April List

April – Nature & Light

  1. Sit outside (or by a bright window) 10–15 minutes daily – to feel the light and air.

I’m all for this, perhaps an afternoon drink while reading on the big porch, at least on nice days.

  2. Plant something easy – herbs in pots, a flower box, or even just a single potted plant.

This will need to happen later in the month, since we’re still subject to frost until early May.

  3. Take one short “photo walk” – around your yard or block, snapping pictures of spring signs.

Okay, not walking in the field though, black snakes might be coming out of hibernation, and I try to respect their home, so they’ll respect mine.

  4. Have a “spring cleaning lite” day – pick one: windows, bedding, or just a closet.

Does cleaning for the cleaners count?

  5. Try a new gentle stretch routine – seated yoga or a stretching video suitable for seniors.

I can’t begin to express how fun this sounds,, said with heavy sarcasm.

End of the month review. I’ve never been less interested in a month. Yes, I was outside for more than 10 minutes every day. Did I sit and drink coffee? No I did not. It may sound relaxing and soothing to tose that don’t have to compete with nesting birds and/or bees and wasps that seem to think mi casa es su casa .. I beg to differ.

I’m looking forward to planting season but we’re not there yet. After Mother’s Day.
