Get Sh*t Together Day

Get Your Sh*t Together Day

A day to clear the clutter—— physically, mentally, and digitally.

Example checklist:

  • Pay your bills

  • Organize your inbox

  • Do meal prep., laundry, and errands

It’s boring, it’s unsexy.

But it’s the maintenance that keeps life from spiraling out of control.

My Realistic Accomplishments:

  • Paid the Southern States bill and gave money towards future heating oil deliveries

  • Bank deposit

  • Grocery store - ugh!

  • one load of laundry

  • Sold a couple of puppies

  • I've had several clever conversation exchanges through the phone, email, and in person. I’ve played “nice” enough to last a week.

Rather than begin a new post for each suggested topic, I will continue here.

Unplug Day

  • Put the phone down

  • Turn off notifications

  • Log out of social media

I feel this one is aimed at a younger person. Yes, I’m guilty of scrolling more than I should. It’s called boredom, and/or procrastination. So I will avoid social media all day. However, if someone emails or calls, I will respond because I’m a mom and have puppies to sell.

The suggestion was to “read a book”. Kindle does involve a device. Who made up this list? It was probably created by one of those “I love the smell of books” people - old library books smell like baby vomit.

Be A Tourist Day

When’s the last time you explored your city like it wasn’t where you live?

Sarcastic response: I don’t think it will take long to see the three Staunton blocks. Oh my, I could go explore the new Wawa GAS STATION — whoopee!

The goal is to see the world around me with fresh eyes - I get it.

Reconnection Day

Take at least one day per month to reconnect with people who matter.

Mini Adventure Day

The goal is to break the routine, make the day more story-worthy.
