September List

September Bucket List

  • Decorate for Fall - that will include a door wreath, change og floral decor on the island,

  • Roast Marshmallows - a sacrifice. I am willing to make.

  • Visit an antique store - this one is a stretch .. I’m not a browser; I only shop when I have a purpose.

  • Change Bedding—I’m looking forward to this one and am restraining myself because I can’t wait to see my vintage (new to me) duvet.

  • Bake bread. I thought Brady might enjoy this task.

Decorating for Fall

  • The annual search for feathers is on. I wish I could remember those “safe” places a year later.

  • The den has been transformed. The apples in the Imari bowl have been replaced with copper globes, and faux spring flowers have been replaced with a dried arrangement (it’s small).

  • The kitchen island flowers are now barren pear branches, and a few other tweaks.

Change Bedding

  • Cotton blanket out

  • Beige matelasse quilt on

  • The duvet cover (vintage Ralph Lauren) purchased earlier this year looks fabulous.

Roast Marshmallows

  • I may try a new idea involving packets of mini cookies, chocolate, and roasted marshmallows dropped inside. The combo is supposed to be the perfect bite.

  • I prefer a solo roasted to a crisp marshmallow, hold the rest.

Bake Bread

  • I made wheat bread before I knew Jim.

  • When I lived in Sierra Madre Canyon, friends would pop in for a slice of warm bread on baking days - it was a fun community.

  • After Brady was born, I took bread-making classes, bought my Braun mixer, and made French bread regularly. I also made pizza dough the same way.

Visit an Antique Store

  • I’ve wanted a small footstool - I have a mission now.
