February List

February – Self-Kindness & Connection

  1. Plan a solo “at-home date night” once a week – special dinner, favorite movie, nice pajamas.

  2. Send 4 handwritten notes or cards – one each week to friends, family, or neighbors. Not doing this. I am, however, making a point of reaching out to my sister and friends more often.

  3. Try one new creative project – coloring pages, simple sketching, or easy crafts.

I’m not a sketcher or painter, but I did have fun adding mini lamps to each room, though. I was missing my holiday window candles, so when I saw a decorator adding unique small lamps to her home, I jumped on board. I shopped on eBay and Etsy for a few and then found several at TJ Maxx. My house now has a warm glow in every room at night.

  4. Make a “love playlist” – songs that make you feel loved, strong, and hopeful.

Instead of a “love playlist,” I downloaded an old Fleetwood Mac album and enjoyed it again.

  5. Have a theme night – e.g., “Paris at Home”: French music, a croissant, and a travel show about France.

How did the month go,,,

I liked the ides that Chat GPT provided, but my mood for participating wasn’t there. It’s been a stressfull month with slow puppy sales, a pregnancy that didn’t happen, and then the son. I’m saving the ideas for next year and moving forward with March.

Review

  • Listening - mainly true crime podcasts. I’m not plotting anything, so I can’t explain why they interest me. When I sink to watching Judge Judy, haul me away.

  • Reading - pure trash and loving it.

  • Cooking - I haven’t done meal prep in a bit. I’ve been cooking sheet-pan meals with fish and veggies.

  • Wearing - leggings and sweaters - duh.

  • Watching - The Pitt and I’m in heaven

  • Enjoying - counting down the days until spring, it’s so close!
